Like the NAB and the PSSAB, the FSC serves in an advisory capacity to the director and staff. FSC meets quarterly for program-based informational briefings, including feedback from PSSAB, and to advise the director and staff regarding the strength and focus of academic-service connections.

History of FSC
The FSC first formed in the 1980s to discuss a wide range of community and public service-related issues. As a group and as individuals, committee members encouraged other faculty to become involved with the center and to offer opportunities for their students to combine experiential service-learning activities with courses and research. The agenda includes evaluation of programs, linking public service to academic programs, the advisability of new programs, and methods of outreach to other faculty.
