Citizen Schools Teaching Fellowship
The National Teaching Fellowship, an AmeriCorps program (http://www.americorps.gov/), is an innovative 2 year leadership development program, offering aspiring young educators and activists a unique blend of on-the-job training and academic study. Fellows have the opportunity to work within two leading educational institutions: Citizen Schools' after-school education programs across the nation and a community partner organization. Citizen Schools' programs powerfully transform the education and life trajectories of underserved youth. Many Fellows also enroll in our pioneering program in out-of-school learning taught at Lesley University, a premier school of education in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The experience is transformative; as part of a close-knit peer group, Fellows at once give back and lay the foundation for careers in educating youth and strengthening communities.
