Citizen Schools Team Leaders
Citizen Schools oversees a growing national network of after-school education programs for students in the middle grades (6th, 7th and 8th) Our programs complement classroom learning by engaging students in hands-on learning projects led by adult volunteers after school and supported by a staff of professional educators.
Team Leaders, teacher-mentors who work directly with the students, are critical to our success. Dynamic, creative, and committed, they direct group activities, as well as provide focused individual attention.
The position is part time—about 22 to 30 hours a week—and completely immersive. Team Leaders are role models, advisers, and cheerleaders. It's challenging, fun, and infinitely rewarding. As a Team Leader you will:
* Craft engaging curricula
* Design and implement team activities
* Serve as an academic coach
* Lead students on off-site adventures
* Facilitate hands-on apprenticeship projects
* Collaborate with teachers and parents.
